What I Did Over Spring Break
The great thing about Juilliard is that our spring break is two weeks long! I am so grateful for that, and it certainly went by way too fast. The first week I stayed in New York and worked during audition week; it was a lot of fun getting to meet new people and see what it is like behind the scenes. There is so much work that goes into the admission process!
Then I spent a few days in Boston where I saw the BSO and spent time with some of my best friends.
Then I went home to Virginia and spent some quality time with my family. Both of my parents work so it was nice to be able to practice during the day and then relax and spend time with my parents in the evening! It was also a real treat getting to catch up with my former flute teacher and go to an NSO concert.
This didn’t happen over spring break, but I thought I would also mention that I took a quick trip to Philadelphia this past week to see my current teacher (principal flute of the Philadelphia Orchestra) play the Mozart Flute Concerto in G Major with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He was absolutely incredible and left me more inspired and motivated than ever to practice!
