Spring Break 2016 | New Orleans Service Project
This spring break, I traveled to New Orleans with a team of 20 Juilliard students as part of a service project.
This is the 10th year of the project!
We worked with Habitat for Humanity for two days, where we helped with construction of a house in the 9th ward.
We gave a performance at a local church.
We taught a middle school and after-school program.
We taught at NOCCA (performing arts high school).
We did a performance of “The Jungle Book” at an elementary school.
We gave performances everywhere we could, even in a living room.
We had team meetings every night.
We were so busy all week. People needed sleep whenever they could get it… even if that meant at the Habitat site during our lunch break.
It was a life-changing week.
Now… back to school!
