Last week, New York got hit with a massive snowstorm...which meant a much-needed snow day for Juilliard! I was a bit disappointed that school was cancelled mostly because in rep class, we were supposed to play Rite of Spring, but we’re doing it next week instead. I had a friend from out of town visiting, and he was actually supposed to leave on the day of the snowstorm but his train got cancelled. But that just meant an extra day to spend together!
Rather than having a cozy snow day indoors, we ended up spending most of the day out--first to get lunch in Korea Town (will go out for food in any weather...rain, sleet, or snow!) and then to meet a friend in Flushing. I was able to use the end of the day to catch up on homework and practicing before turning in for the night.
(We may have been the only people crazy enough to be outside during a snowstorm, but it was so worth it for the food.)
A snow day at Juilliard doesn’t necessarily mean fun all day, since we have so much to do, but it was still nice to have a relaxing day in the middle of the week. Since then, there haven’t been any more signs of snow, so while another snow day is unlikely, it does mean that spring is coming soon!
