A Learning Opportunity Everywhere You Go
Just because Juilliard isn’t a big university doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of things going on within the school every day. Despite our sub-900 population, there are various organizations ranging from religious groups to the Juilliard Student Council to the new Women’s Empowerment Club (shoutout to my roommate for co-founding it!), and every week there are school-hosted lunch discussions and holiday-themed mini-celebrations. These groups and informal get-togethers are great ways to meet other Juilliard students as well as stay connected to and learn more about the Real World.
I’ve been to talks and events about everything from multiraciality to apartment hunting in New York to Q&As with well-renowned artists. The events at Juilliard are a great way to see and hear different perspectives on a variety of topics, which I can then translate to my growth as a musician and citizen.
Also, did I mention most of these events have free food?
