Spring Break Approaches
There are only a few days left until spring break, and lately, the weather has been acknowledging that! Today it was sunny and WARM outside, so unlike the sub-freezing temperatures we’ve had up until now. With the sudden heat wave, a once-quiet New York is now awakening from hibernation. I celebrated this morning with a run in Central Park (away from the treadmill!) (wearing shorts!) (outside!!!!), and it was so nice to see so many people outside. (Sky’s out, thighs out? I may have blinded a few people with my post-winter paleness.)
After spending another winter cooped up inside, I am reminded of how nice it is to get out and enjoy the city. Of course New York is loud and crowded and overwhelming, but I’m learning to enjoy the bustle of a busy crosswalk or the flood of people exiting a subway. New York is nothing without its people, and even though it’s easy to feel small in such a big place, it’s humbling to be one out of so many lives. It motivates me to make my own life as colorful and enriching as I can.
With auditions almost over, I wish everybody luck at their Juilliard one! Take some time to enjoy the city before or after your audition, especially if this lovely weather stays!
