One of the coolest things about Juilliard is the abundance of resources it provides for its students! Here are a few resources that Juilliard has to offer us that I love:
There are plenty of clubs and organizations at Juilliard (the exact number escapes me at the moment, but trust me, there are a lot!) My favorite has to be the Black Student Union because it allows black students to get together and fellowship with each other. There aren’t a lot of us, and everyone is so busy, so it’s nice to everyone when we meet!
2. OUTREACH PROGRAMS
My favorite Juilliard Outreach Program was the New Orleans Service Project. Why? Not only is it because I am from New Orleans, but without seeing Juilliard students come to my high school and teach, I probably wouldn’t even be at Juilliard now! That’s right, the New Orleans Service Project was my first exposure to Juilliard!
3. CAREER SERVICES
The Alan D. Marks Center for Career Services and Entrepreneurship is such a valuable resource at Juilliard. Not only does it host weekly “Lunch and Learns” to provide us with important tools and information about things like taxes, applying for grants; but the Alan D. Marks Center also provides one-on-one consultation sessions on website and resume building, grant writing help, entrepreneurship efforts, and more! This resource’s job is to literally set Juilliard students up for success! But it is up to the students to utilize it. I know I am!
