Thanksgiving Break! (There’s No Place Like Home)
As Fall comes to a close, it’s time for the holidays! I’m writing my blog this week from my plane home to for Thanksgiving break! After a long three months at school, it’s time to spend some time at home with my family! This week I’ll talk about some of the things I can’t wait to do when I’m home!
I think I’m most excited to spend time with my family this break! Living in New York is wonderful, but sometimes you need to return to your roots. This year, Thanksgiving dinner is at my house, so I’m sure we will have plenty of time for catching up while in the kitchen preparing for dinner! I’m looking forward to seeing my parents, sister, and grandparents – three months is a long time!
While Thanksgiving is a short break for college students, I’m sure there will be enough time to see some old friends from high school and beyond. I’m lucky enough to have some of my best friends from high school living with me in New York, but it’s going to be great to catch up with some of the friends that don’t live near Juilliard. My friends and I are ready to meet at our usual back-in-town meeting spot.
Sleeping In (My Own Bed)
Don’t get me wrong, the beds at Juilliard are actually pretty comfortable by college dorm standards, but there’s nothing like sleeping in your own bed. On top of that, I’m really looking forward to catching up on my sleep and having fewer responsibilities. Nothing makes you appreciate home like sleeping in your own bed.
I’m easy to please, I love food. I am VERY much looking forward to having a nice meal. My mom and grandma are some of the best when it comes to Thanksgiving, so of course eating dinner is an exciting bonus to this holiday!
