Deadline day is approaching! That means you’ve made it another step on your journey to Juilliard (or wherever you decide to go!). This is a very exciting time, but it’s also very stressful! Below are some tips to survive the waiting game after deadline day!
Get Your Applications In! (OBVIOUSLY)
This is an easy one! First and foremost, get your apps in! It’s stressful, but once it’s over you’ll feel great! If you’re almost done, now’s a great time to finish them off and move on with your life! If you haven’t started yet, don’t worry! You still have some time! The Deadline for most colleges is December 1st
The Waiting Game
Once you’ve submitted you applications, it’s a waiting game! It’s a long road (especially if you’re applying for music school). It’s applications, then auditions, THEN callbacks before you hear back! Don’t worry! It’s best to find ways to distract yourself from the process. I found that when I kept myself busy with other things, I forgot about my applications. When the results came out, I had almost forgotten I was waiting!
The scariest part about the whole process if, undoubtedly, the results. If you get in, that’s great! If you don’t, that can be devastating. Unfortunately, all schools have to make cuts – it’s important to remember that your gift is worth sharing even if you don’t get into your top choice school! While it might feel like the end of the world, sometimes all you need is a little more time! Everything happens for a reason!
Happy Audition Season (Almost) and Happy Holidays!
