It seems that there’s never a moment to catch a breather at Juilliard, but somehow the semester is already halfway through and so many exciting things have happened. Even at a conservatory, we still have midterms, but studying is made bearable through class group chats and late-night study sessions. I’ve already performed in two orchestra concerts and a composer reading for the semester, and now it’s time to shift my attention to preparing recordings and summer festival applications.
With so much going on, it’s been imperative to prioritize my own health so that I can perform my best, which means getting enough sleep, exercising, eating well, and NOT procrastinating! The latter has been the most difficult, but I find that I’m in a much better headspace when I’m not rushing through a bunch of last-minute deadlines. With just a few more weeks left until fall break, we all have to keep on going!
