Culture at Juilliard
Juilliard is a culture stew! Our school is a beautiful mix of people from all over the world that offer a variety of different lifestyles. Below are some of the best ways to explore different cultures at Juilliard.
Juilliard offers a variety of classes called foundations. In order to qualify for priority housing in the dorms, you must complete four foundations classes over the whole year, however, they are always super fun and engaging, so it’s not hard to go to four. Foundation offer a variety of classes about of variety of different things including other cultures. Attending foundations is just one of many ways to experience culture at Juilliard.
All Juilliard first year students live in the dorms so it’s hard not to experience other cultures because they are all around you. You meet so many people in the dorms that it’s hard not to learn something about different people and where they are from. The dorms are also a great bonding experience for people who might have never become friends otherwise.
Exploring the City!
The best way to learn about other cultures at Juilliard is to step outside! Korea town, Little Italy, China town – all great ways to experience foods from various cultures. New York is full of diverse people from all over the world, so what better way to learn than to go outside!
