MY SPARKLING SUMMER
I still have two weeks of school left and this week our last studio project, Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov, go up in front of the students and faculty of the Drama Division. A part of me is so over going to classes. Yet another, larger part of me feels graced to have been given the task of diving into and sharing this play to my colleagues. I am keeping an open channel for the remainder of what is to come at the last two weeks of school while allowing myself fleeting moments of fantasy of what I wish for myself this summer.
My Sparkling Summer Wish-list:
1) A beach, in the Philippines:
Nothing in the world compares to the beaches in my home country. I crave for white sand, bright blue sky and clear waters with a mango shake at hand.
2) A quiet stream surrounded by grass and a leafy tree I can sleep under:
I look forward to periods of “downtime” to make space for “conditions of the soul.” Many of the great discoveries of art and science have sprung from moments of leisure after having worked intensely on something for a long period of time. I look forward to looking at new environments to allow for what I have worked intensely during the school year to seep its way into my subconscious and to penetrate more deeply into my being.
3) Love and Divinity: I have no idea what this means or how it will find its way into expression but I want it.
