Springtime in the City
After a gloomy winter, the weather is finally warming up and the city is coming alive again. We’ve finally said farewell to the last frost of the season (hopefully!), and now countless flowers, outdoor markets, and ice cream trucks have been springing up everywhere. It’s so nice being able to go outside without the need for thousands of layers (although I’m now painfully aware of how pale I’ve gotten). Classes will be winding down soon, too, and I’m excited to continue exploring the city and taking advantage of the beautiful weather before summer kicks in and I’m condemned to either sweating or sitting in front of the AC to survive.
My own plants are enjoying the extra sunlight as well.
Springtime celebrations call for a mandatory visit (or three) to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, where the cherry trees are blossoming right now.
Now that there are only a few weeks left in the semester, the long-overdue spring season has been such a nice change. With the warmer weather has come a newfound sense of refreshment and productivity, which I’m trying to embrace as much as I can before the school year ends!
