Happy Post-Audition Week! I hope that those of you who have just finished your Juilliard audition feel proud of yourself for all the hard work you have done! Here’s to a successful final few months of high school!
Students at the Juilliard School have two weeks off to accommodate auditioning students and for Spring Break. Below are a collection of things I have been doing during my time away from Juilliard.
HOME SWEET HOME:
I’m home! It’s been a great semester so far but I am definitely enjoying some time at home this break! The weather changes between New York City and the great state of Michigan were quite drastic. NYC was experiencing a heat wave while Michigan… was not. Below is what the beginning of my spring break looked like:
I took some pictures out the airplane window to give you an idea of what the change in weather was like. The left is New York City; the right is the “sunny” welcome I received from Michigan.
LEO’S CONEY ISLAND
When I go home on vacation, I NEVER miss an opportunity to hit my favorite dining establishment, Leo’s Coney Island. In Michigan, a Coney Island is a restaurant (like a diner) that serves a large variety of menu items. I highly recommend (with every fiber of my being) that you visit here if you’re ever in Michigan (don’t worry, they’re in every city). By the time I leave for New York I will probably have visited Leo’s at least 10 times.
I also got the chance to visit my cousins in Georgia for five days this break. My cousins have lived there for almost two years and I have never visited their new house so this break seemed like the perfect time! (Shout out to Southwest Airlines for the $50 flight I found!) Some of the highlights include the marathon game of Mexican Train we played (pictures below)
Have an excellent week!
