OUT AND ABOUT: Fun things in NYC
There are so many things to do on the weekend in New York City, most of which I couldn’t do if I didn’t live here! Below is a list of some things I really like to do on the weekends.
EAT, OF COURSE!
Food in New York City can be a little pricy, but my friends and I have found some cool places that are relatively inexpensive! Our go to place is Motorino on the Upper West Side. Usually, four of us go and we all split something, so it works out to around 12 dollars per person. For dessert, we’ve gone to Milk and Cookies and Black Taps, both in the West Village. We found both of these places per Facebook videos. Below are pictures from our experience at each.
The most obvious advantage for any performing arts student is the number of performances you have access to at all times! The Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic, and the New York City Ballet are all within 200 feet of our dorms. The theatre district is also within walking distance! I have seriously taken advantage of all of the performances near me. Below are some photos from things I’ve attended this year!
CENTRAL PARK AND OTHER FREE THINGS!
The greatest thing about New York is the amount of things you can do for free. Walking 50 feet outside of Juilliard is an experience in and of itself. From the amazing architecture to having Central Park right outside our front door, there are so many fun places to walk to or take a subway too!
