A Snowy Thursday
Being from North Carolina, I’m very used to snow days. Every time the weather forecast predicted more than half an inch of snow, school was closed. I enjoyed snow days at home, but there was never that much snow to run around in. Coming to New York I told myself that we would never have snow days. Storm Jonas happened over a weekend last year, so there was no snow day. You can imagine my surprise when I woke up on Thursday to an email saying that all classes were cancelled!
I had many excited texts from my friends, and thankfully I was already planning on sleeping in because my first class would have been at noon.
I spent most of the day like this:
I watched a couple movies, a few inspirational TED talks, and lots of episodes of The Office. It was perfect timing actually, because I was starting to get a bit stressed about some of my classes, and it was a great way to take some time and chillax.
Later in the day I met up with a few of my friends and we decided to head to Central Park before the sun set. We went into the Ramble which looked like a winter wonderland! So much of the snow was untouched and we spotted a few cardinals on our way.
The snow day was such a great way to recharge in the middle of the week (especially the day before Ear Training). It gave me an excuse to do a lot of de-stressing, and I was also able to get outside and enjoy the snowy park before it all melted a few days later.
Now I just have the Second-Year Songbook coming up (yay!) and then it’s onto spring break!
