What Juilliard Means to Me

What Juilliard Means to Me

Jeez...I'm a third year ALREADY?? I can't lie, it feels like just yesterday I was a first year moving in and getting ready for orientation. Now I'm half-way through...

(yes, that is me in a tutu...don't ask...)

(yes, that is me in a tutu...don't ask...)

Having spent two years at the world's most prestigious arts conservatory, I've learned more about myself than anything else. Granted, I am much more knowledgeable about my art form than when I first got here. But being surrounded by so many individual, yet like-minded artists on a daily basis is an incomparable reality for me right now.

To say that Juilliard is just a school of resources and information would be an understatement. That's what college is in general. But there is just something so special about being a part of the Juilliard family. To me, Juilliard is a place I can explore myself (often through my art) and not be judged for it. I won't be judged because everyone else here is doing that same thing. There is so much collaboration happening that you may not realize that you're part of someone's self-discovery.

Wow, I love this place.
