Family Time (Wrapping Up No. 2)

Over the past week and a half I received a very special visit from the very specialest people in my life: my family. It was their first visit to the US, while I have been living here for close to eight years. There was a lot to see and try and experience; time just passed seamlessly and we already said our goodbyes at JFK yesterday in the late afternoon. While they were here, I realized again and again how being an artist, a performer attending Juilliard, which is a name of excellence known all over the world, is an achievement of a very large pool of individuals. It is the community that gives the artist inspiration (which of course can be in many shapes and forms) and support so the artist can strive and give back beauty, entertainment, amazement, et&. I wish I could list here every single person who comes to my mind when I start thinking about people who inspired me in some way and whose influence I carry on to this day. I wish I could take everyone of those people on a trip around my little microcosmos, just like I did with my parents and little sister over the past few days…

I have been very nostalgic and sentimental these past few weeks (months?) which I think must be because of the approaching end of the school year and the fact that I have been studying and listening to late Liszt basically all the time I can. I suppose many seniors in high school and college who are ready to move on are facing the same feelings, so I have book recommendation for you: Journey by Moonlight by Antal Szerb. I don’t want to say more about it for now, but if you need a good read, go ahead!

Best,
