How to de-stress at Juilliard

How to de-stress at Juilliard

Right now I am the busiest I have ever been, and that is mostly because it is almost the end of the first semester! I am SO glad that it’s almost over!  Everyone is stressed right now so that makes the overall environment here at Juilliard even more stressful. Final exams are coming up next week, college applications for masters students are due, and most summer festival application deadlines are approaching.  In between practicing, rehearsals, classes, lessons, recordings, and studying, there is still SOME time to do things that don’t cause any stress.  Here are some things I have discovered:

1.  Exercise! The gym in the dorms is great!

2.  Go to concerts.  This past weekend I saw the Philadelphia Orchestra in Carnegie Hall.  My teacher is the principal flute so it was amazing to see him play!

3.  Take walks outside.  Lincoln Center is just beautiful.

4.  Spend time with friends! Bananagrams is a very fun game I highly recommend.
