Coping with stress during finals!!!
Can you believe it? This semester is almost over! We only have two weeks left before winter break and let me tell you, it can get pretty stressful! In the very last week, we have finals in Music Theory, Liberal Arts, Secondary Piano and Ear Training. This week will be all about preparing.
When the going gets tough, the most important thing is to stay healthy and take care of yourself. Having a nervous break down will not help you face your challenges!
Here are some things to have in mind when you are studying and practicing.
- Get enough sleep
- Eat healthy
- Go to the gym! (it’s literally right there!!)
- Take breaks!!!
Here are some fun things á la Juilliard, you can do while taking your study break, to help you wind down.
1. Pet Hailey!
Hailey is the residence dog, she is the cutest thing on the planet. You can pet her anytime you need to and she will always let you! Such an incredible dog!
2. Massage Train!
You give a massage and you receive a massage! Everybody wins!
3. Play Ping-Pong!
We have a pretty awesome ping-pong table in our lounge and the games get pretty intense! It’s a perfect way to let all your frustration and anger out!
4. Floor Chocolate Fondue!
We had a 27th floor fondue party, where we ate all the chocolate and cheese you could possibly have. We got to chat a little and relax, while eating delicious food. It’s great that we have so many social events in our dorm! It makes such a difference!
5. Swing and eat some Crépes :)
Sometimes you just have to be a kid again and make someone swing you around! Yub, these picture was a real life situation! Also, don’t forget that NYC has some of the best food ever. There is this magnificent Crépe place only 5 minutes away. It is the best winter study break snack :)
I hope you enjoyed these tips!
Winter break is just around the corner, hang in there!
Good luck with your finals, and later on, your auditions!!!
All the best,
