Top 3 Drama Audition Tips
So you've applied to Juilliard and scheduled your audition....now what?
What will help you the most on your audition is knowing you've done all the prep work. From planning your transportation and arriving early to packing a snack and bringing water. Do whatever you need to calm your nerves. You can bring your iPod to listen to music while you wait, bring copies of your pieces to look over, or wear your favorite color, like I did!
2. Ask Questions
On your audition day there will be current students and faculty members all over the third floor working. Feel free to ask them anything about the program! This is your chance to find out anything you want to know. There are drama students from all over the world, of all ages and backgrounds ready to answer your questions or help demystify things for you.
The most important thing to remember is this audition is about YOU. So select pieces you are passionate about. Share one of your favorite stories that day. Sing a song you've always loved to sing. The faculty want to get to know you, not a perfect polished actor. If you're true to you, everything else will take care of itself!
