5 Ways to Get Involved
Students here do get bogged down with class and rehearsals, but during free time here is how most students find a way to get involved and give back to the Juilliard Community, the surrounding New York area, and communities in need around the globe.
5. Starting A Student Group
One of the easiest and quickest ways to get involved in the Juilliard Community is starting your own student group. It can be about anything. SERIOUSLY….anything. All you need is five other students, a faculty advisor, a planned meeting time and a mission statement. Then, you fill out a form to be approved by the Office of Student Affairs. Presto! You’re own student group!
4. Student Council
With representatives from all divisions and monthly town hall meetings held during common hour, if you want your ideas or issues heard, Student Council is the way to go! They are always looking for people who are interested in joining the council as well!
3. Educational OutReach
Educational OutReach is the home of many fellowships and programs that most ever Juilliard student is or will be a part of. From Gluck, to Teaching Fellows, this office is the bridge between Juilliard Students and our surrounding New York community. If you are looking for a way to give back this is the office for you!
100% Student Run, ArtReach is an organization for hosting and helping student lead outreach initiatives. It is the long time sponsor of the New Orleans Service Trip headed into it’s ninth year. Any student can propose an idea for an outreach project and ArtReach will help them see it through.
1. Applying for a Student Leadership Position
There is no better way of getting involved than serving the Juilliard community by applying for a Student Leadership Position. They include, RA’s, Community Assistants, Colloquium Peer Mentors, Orientation Leaders, and Programming Assistants. This is a hands on way to get to know people in different divisions and be a part of yearly planning for school programs.
