Colloquium is one of my favorite classes because it allows students in different majors to spend time together and share art; otherwise we would never see each other! Each class put together a performance, and my class put together a performance that was "Midsummer Night's Dream" themed.
We were all interested in each other's majors and wanted to somehow switch, but we didn't have enough time to actually learn a completely different focus. So we decided to do something that would be easy to put together in one class period. Some people read part of the play by Shakespeare, some people improvised on the piano, and some people played part of the Scherzo by Mendelssohn.
The dancers also choreographed movements to go along with lines of text from the play. So with the exception of the Mendelssohn Scherzo, all of us performed something that was outside of our own major! We never got the chance to run through it before the performance, but it ended up coming together nicely! We all had a lot of fun putting it together.
